Escalator/ Travelator Technician Mechanical, New Installation Training

Escalator/Travelator Technician Mechanical New Installation Training is a vocational development program designed to develop the skills and knowledge of technicians required to install escalators and moving walkways in commercial, residential, and public infrastructure projects. The program focuses on both theoretical components and practical work to ensure safe, accurate and efficient installation. The content includes covering the mechanical components, truss alignment, installation of steps and pallets, handrails assembly and drive system assembly. Technicians Learn to read and interpret technical drawings, manufacturer manuals, and wiring diagrams to ensure correct procedures are followed during the installation process. There will be a concentrated focus on Safety Standards and International Installation Guidelines, ensuring compliance and safety standards for pedestrians and passengers.

As practical work is a significant component of this course, participants will be working directly on the hands-on assembly of escalator/travelator components ensuring proper tolerances, alignments of steps, alignments of handrails, trial running systems, and using mechanical tools, and lifting equipment required during the installation process. Safety, teamwork, and precision are a focus during installations as indicated by the expected protocols put in place to eliminate hazards. After successful completion of training, technicians will be in a position to deal with new escalator and travelator installations, independently, and confidently by having a basic understanding of mechanical alignments, systems testing and final commissioning. With that said, this program will have participants at the starting stages of skill development, for escalator and travelator installation. Participants will gain confidence and knowledge with each installation experience.
